Math History Presentation - Reflection

I was pretty pleased with this presentation. The problem we chose, the Egyptian circle approximation, was quite simple, but circle approximations have a rich history and it was very interesting to explore one of the earliest. Coming up with a better polygonal circle approximation as my extension was a neat challenge, and, since I used a lot of modern algebra and modern mathematical knowledge to do it, made me appreciate the ancient ingenuity of the Egyptians, who built their approximation with relatively primitive mathematical tools. Learning the historical context and usage for this math was also very interesting, and I felt like our presentation did a good job of weaving together the different ideas surrounding circle approximations. If we had had more time, I would have liked to look at the problem of squaring the circle more, making the connection between Egyptian and Greek mathematics.
